Chris struggled against the chains that bound his wrists, cursing the anti-orbing spell that held him there. He should’ve listened to his brother instead of gallivanting off to save that girl without a back-up plan. How was he supposed to know she was in on it? Now he just hoped that Wyatt and the rest of his family could find him in time. Nervously, he looked over at the half-naked female warlock who eyed him while clutching her athame.
“It’s a shame I have to kill you. You’re so yummy to look at.” She slinked closer to him, tracing the side of his face with the athame. “You know, you could just turn evil and join me.”
He shook his head. “Sorry. Not an option.”
She sighed. “What a shame.” She raised the knife over her head. Just as she swung down, her eyes grew wide and she burst into flames.
When the dust cleared, Chris could see Wyatt standing behind her, his hands still raised. “Boy, am I glad to see you!”
Wyatt set to work unlocking the chains. “You owe me, bro.”
Chris rubbed his wrists the minute his hands were free. “You better believe it. How do I get myself into these things?”
