“Hi,” she smiled.
Chris didn’t say anything, just smiled and blushed.
She tried again. “I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before. Are you new?”
Chris nodded, but still didn’t answer. She was so pretty, yet so normal. No powers at all. After spending his elementary years at the Magic School, he wasn’t quite sure how to react to her.
The pretty eleven-year-old next to him just giggled. “You’re shy, aren’t you?”
“Yeah.” Lo and behold, he finally said something.
Taking his hand in hers, she led him towards the school. “That’s okay. I’ll keep an eye on you.”
